The Santa Clara University LEAD Scholars Program was established in 2003 as a way to enhance the university’s support of first generation college students (students whose parents did not graduate from a 4-year college or university) throughout their college career and after they have graduated. The program provides academic and vocational development opportunities, supportive advising, peer mentoring, and community building through a variety of courses, programs, and support networks. 

As the program has progressed and grown over the years it was apparent that a logo was needed to brand the program as a whole.

Using key words from the program’s acronym, LEAD (Leadership Excellence and Academic Development) we developed a clean modern logo that appeals to the broad audience of prospective college students, current college students, alumni, and donors that the program is trying to attract.
